Capital Region Aquatics Hall of Fame Set to Honor First Class

The Capital Region Aquatics Hall of Fame was established this year, in conjunction with the Capital Region Aquatic Center, to recognize athletes, coaches, officials and community supporters who have made significant contributions to Capital Region aquatic sports through their service, performance, dedication, commitment and accomplishment.

The inductees will be honored on a wall at the center, which is coming soon at the Via Port in Rotterdam, New York.

The Hall of Fame Committee will also be honoring current high school juniors who have made a significant contribution to an aquatic sport through their participation and performance. A scholarship will be awarded to two student athletes at the induction ceremony.

An award will also be given to a deserving Coaching Staff of the Year. The coaches must be from an aquatic sport at the age group, high school, college or masters level.

Nominations for the high school award, and for the Hall of Fame, are being accepted through April 1, 2024, with an induction ceremony set for October 19 at the Hilton Garden in Clifton Park
