Swimming works the whole body, improving cardiovascular conditioning, muscle strength, endurance, posture, and flexibility. The cardiovascular system in particular benefits because swimming improves the body’s use of oxygen without overworking the heart. As swimmers become more fit and are able to swim longer, resting heart rate and respiratory rate will be reduced, making blood flow to the heart and lungs more efficiently.  Simply put, some call swimming the perfect form of exercise.

Lap Swimming

The Aquatic Center will always have Lap Swimming lanes available to the public. Any time, all year round.

Stay Healthy

Our population is aging.  Staying healthy is so very important for quality of life.  Exercising in the water is an easy on the joints way to stay strong, improve balance, gain endurance and retain flexibility.  Aquatic exercise makes life easier on land.

Fitness Classes

One of the Aquatic Center’s missions is to have many types of Fitness Classes scheduled to meet the needs of all of its members.  Classes will be scheduled in the therapy pool (90 degrees), instruction pool (86 degrees), diving well and community pool (both 79 degrees).
